The Postnatal MidwifeKent

The heart of what I do

Postnatal care, the way it should feel

A postnatal package means I look after you, so you can look after your baby. The same midwife at every visit, two unhurried hours at a time, every health check you and your baby need — and me in your pocket for the questions in between. Alongside your NHS care, or on its own.

Individual visits and extras

Sometimes one good visit is all a week needs. All of these stand alone, and any of them can grow into a package later.

Birth preference discussion

£100

Up to two hours, face-to-face or over Teams, with a written keepsake document. We cover induction, labour preferences, pain relief, mode of delivery, vitamin K, birth partners, feeding options, the early postnatal days — and anything else on your mind.

Overnight support at home

£250

8pm to 8am. I stay, you sleep.

Individual antenatal support visit

£150

Two hours, at home.

Individual postnatal support visit

£150

Two hours, at home.

Mobile and home appointments are £5 extra, to cover travel. Payment plans are available on request — just ask. Everything can be shaped around what you and your family actually need.

asked before booking

The questions mums ask first

What does a postnatal midwife actually do?

Everything your hospital midwife did, brought to your sofa and given time to breathe. On a package visit I check you and your baby properly — weight, feeding, wounds, mood, recovery — carry out the day-five blood spot test, remove c-section dressings, help with feeding in the chair you actually feed in, and answer every question you have been saving up. Visits are up to two hours because none of that should be rushed.

Can I use a package alongside my NHS care?

Yes — my packages are designed to run alongside NHS care or independently of it, whichever you prefer. I am an NMC-registered midwife, on the same register as your NHS team, and I am happy to complement their visits rather than replace them. Many families use me as the constant thread between NHS appointments.

Do you do home visits, and which areas do you cover?

Home visits are the heart of every package. I cover Kent — including Medway, Maidstone, Dartford, Gravesend, Ashford, West Malling, Kings Hill, Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks — with a £5 supplement for travel.

When should I book?

Ideally while you are still pregnant, so your dates are held and I can meet you (or visit you in hospital, on the Full package) from day one. But mums join me at every stage — if your baby is already here and this week is hard, message me today and I will get to you as soon as I can.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes, happily — payment plans are available on any package, arranged around what works for your family. Just ask when you get in touch; it changes nothing about the care you receive.

What is the Pocket Midwife, exactly?

Unlimited virtual access to me from the moment we agree until your baby is six weeks old, for £200. You message me whenever you need — a photo of a rash at 7am, a feeding worry at midnight, a "is this normal?" at any hour — and you get an answer from a qualified, registered, insured midwife who knows your story, instead of a search engine that does not.

Let's talk about your first weeks

Packages start with a conversation, not a checkout. Tell me when your baby is due — or how old they are — and what kind of support would help most, and we'll shape it together.
